Prezi

Last week all the class was introduced to Prezi. An internet device similar to power point that combines the creativity of adding videos and pictures and the creation of paths that lead you to the order of the presentation. I really prefer this from the old boring powerpoint. It was too simple, now with Prezi you can expand your ideas into more complex images. It has far more privileges than powerpoint and its free. Another thing I really like is that it is simple and you only need 2 minutes to understand everything with the video tutorial. What I did find a little confusing is how to use some tools that were in the side of the page. Besides this everything else was great and successful for me.

If I could choose between powerpoint, word or any program for writing I know I would choose Prezi. Its the new thing, it has more features like pictures, videos and different shapes that can be led to your choice. Another great thing about this page that I liked was that its everywhere. If you have internet to hand you can open it in any place you like to show it to different people. You can even open it from your cellphone. Google docs is also a great choice for these types of works but Prezi is now my favorite website for easy a working.

PSA video reflection

The PSA I was assigned to do was safe sex. I believe that it turned out pretty well. Mahonty and I did it last Friday with help of Ximena and Courtney. The videos were shot behind the house of my classmate Mahonry and in his room. It took us to shot everything in about an hour. For the editing, I finished after 30 minutes. At the end Mahonry and I were satisfied with our work and even other people in the class that were watching it think the same. For the project we did 2 videos, about 2:45 min and another one that was sent for marking of 1:30 min plus 4 secs of credits. Even though it was good i still think that the longer version we did was much better.

When watching my video I always look for things that I can change and for this one I specifically found many. First, I would reduce the movement of the camera when following the car. another thing I would do is repeat the scene when Mahonry talks. Anohter possibilty would be adding subtitles for more clearness. The last thing I would change is the number of actors. I personally think that we needed more actors to form a better "party". Besides adding more scenes the rest of the video came out perfect.

At the start of the class I saw all my classmates videos so I could choose the winner. The video I chose for winning was Debora and Jade`s. Their topic was ¨ does drinking affect the ones around you?¨ The video itself is about a girl that parties and drinks and does not care about her grades or the other outcomes that could affect their family and friends. Something I think they could change was the moving of the camera. The shots are to shaky and sometimes unfocused But I also think that it was somehow in purpose to represent the crazy party. Besides that the rest of the video was well made with: Great story, good scenery and awesome editing. I really would like to congratulate them.

So a PSA is an advertisement announced on any sorts of media mostly in television that does not try to sell a product but to inform people of issues of society. The most common topic of these commercial peoples health or safety. This is similar to a commercial because it has a main topic or situation and has a duration of about 2-3 minutes. A PSA is always done to benefit or give help to a problem that is happening in the world. An example of a PSA is taking car of our streets by cleaning it or not drinking and drive at the same time.

The person that I would like to work with is Mahonry. This is because I had already worked with him and it went very well. Another reason is that we both have a lot of creativity so everything should work out well. Last time I worked with Mahonry it was really easy because even though he had the ASOMEX approaching he had time to work on the project and finish it successfully. The last thing why I chose Mahonry is that we get along well.

superbowl commercials

Even though I didnt get to see the whole superbowl this past weekend I did see some commercials that I liked. The one I liked the most was the Darth Vader car one. I mean that kid really knows how to act. I heard in the news that he never saw a star wars movie but he did a great role as darth vader. Another one I liked was the chevrolet camaro one. I love that car but besides that fact I believe that the commercial itself is great. I mean the scenery and the stunts are really cool. It really catches the viewers attention. The last video I really liked was the doritos one. The pug really made me laugh. It was a really original idea and its simple. These were my favorite superbowl commercials from 2011.

Besides the ones I liked I also found one I would really change. I really liked the prision break with the audi but I believe they could have used more funny ideas. some of them could have been famous people that have gone to jail appear doing something funny like the crime they did. I am not a professional video maker but I do believe that the end is somehow confusing. Maybe what they could have done was make it more explicit so that people can get the ending of the video better. Besides all these insignificant errors the rest of the video was pretty well done.

My favorite commercial of my class was the Coca Cola one. This was done by Jorge and was the most original and funny of all. The subject of it was a remake of the rocky scene were he trains for a very long time. At the end Jorge comes in front of the camera and announces his product by saying that he drinks coke when he does sport. This commercial had everything, originality, good music and the exact timing which was 30 secs. I believe that Jorge´s commercial should win the contest of best commercial from the class.
